Pisces is Latin for the fish (plural). The fish are said to be Aphrodite and her son Eros who transformed to get away from the monster Typhon. Then, to prevent being split apart, they tied a ribbon around each other.

Aries is Latin for ram. According to legend, Phrixus was saved by Aries, a golden ram, who carried him to Colchis where the ram was sacrificed to please Zeus and later honored in the sky.

Taurus is Latin for bull. Taurus represents the god Zeus changing himself into a beautiful white Bull to win the affections of the Phoenician princess Europa. Happy with the results, he decided to honor the bull by placing it amongst the stars.

Gemini is Latin for twins. Gemini is made up of twins: Castor (mortal) and Pollux (immortal). Both Castor and Pollux, being identical twins, were inseparable in their looks and actions. When Castor died, Zeus reunited the twins in the sky.

Sagittarius is Latin for archer. Half goat and half man, Crotus was an extremely talented musician and huntsman. The Muses asked Zeus to immortalize him in the stars.
Capricorn
Capricorn is Latin for horned goat. The half-goat demigod Pan was immortalized as a constellation for aiding Zeus in his battle with Typhon.
